TOUR POLICIES & PROCEDURES
As a Member of The Freedom Tour I understand:
Attire and Equipment
Slacks or Bermuda length shorts are permitted. No denim is permitted. All shirts must have a collar and remain tucked in at all times. Players shall present a neat appearance in both clothing and personal grooming. The Tour Director or Host Professional shall interpret this regulation.
Metal spikes are not permitted.
The Tour is not responsible for items stolen, lost or damaged at any practice facility or host golf course.
Carts
Players are permitted the use of a golf cart, pull cart, caddie or may carry their own bag during a tournament round. If a certain course requires the use of carts, players may have to take a cart for that round.
Pairing, Times and Lateness
Pairings will be based on the Official Money List and the discretion of the Tour Director.
Starting times will be posted on The Freedom Tour website and available at 516-960-2034 the evening before the round after 7pm.
The responsibility of being ready to play at the appointed time lies solely with the individual player.
Late to the Tee: Rule 6-3 provides "The player shall start at the time laid down by the Committee." The Tour incorporates the Note under 6-3 that allows the player to be up to 5 minutes late with a 2 stroke penalty. After 5 minutes, he shall be disqualified.
If a player foresees that they may be late for their tee time, contact the Tour Director immediately for possible rescheduling.
Player's Responsibilities
It is each player's responsibility to abide by and enforce the rules to protect the integrity of the game and the competition.
It is the player's responsibility to make sure their contact information is current and they understand the rules of play and policies and procedures of the Freedom Tour.
The Freedom Tour reserves the right to evaluate and modify policies, procedures, rules of play, player requirements and tournament scheduling. The Freedom Tour and the membership's best interest will be considered before modifications of any kind will be made. The most current version of each is available on The Freedom Tour website.
Tournament Rules
The goal of The Freedom Tour is to complete scheduled events. The tournament committee and players will make their best effort to complete each round and tournament as scheduled. In the event of inclement weather or other conditions that make it impossible to continue play, and the entire field has completed at least 50% of the scheduled event it will be considered an Official Tournament. (9 holes of an 18 hole event, 18 holes of a 36 hole event).
The only ties which will be broken by a playoff are those to decide first place when possible. All other ties will remain as ties and the purse for those positions will be divided equally. A sudden death playoff will immediately follow play on a hole or holes chosen by the Tournament Committee.
Player Conduct Policy
The Freedom Tour will maintain a strict no tolerance policy on any behavior unbecoming a professional for all tour players, including amateurs. This includes but is not limited to vulgar language, club throwing and damage to the golf course or golf course property. Failure to comply with these rules will result in the forfeiture of all tour membership rights. Conduct unbecoming a golf professional will not be tolerated and will be dealt with as the tour sees fit given the circumstances.
Players will be expected to treat the staff at each host club with respect.
Practice Rounds
Practice rounds are available on an event by event basis. Players are responsible for practice rounds including reserving tee times and any fees that may apply.
Safety
Suspension of Play Due To Dangerous Situation: The Freedom Tour requests and encourages its players to seek safe shelter in lightning conditions. Each individual has the right to determine the conditions are dangerous and suspend play. If the host course has ordered a suspension of play and you are in the process of playing a hole, you shall discontinue play and seek safe shelter immediately. Play shall not thereafter be resumed until the course has ordered a resumption of play and the players determine the conditions are acceptable for play. All practice areas shall be closed during suspension for a dangerous situation until the host course has declared them open for use.
