The Freedom Tour - Professional Golf Tour for New York Metro Area

(March 20, 2006: New York) The Freedom Tour kicks off its inaugural season on April 3rd, 2006 at Long Island National Golf Club in Riverhead, New York. It is the only professional golf tour in the New York Metro area and is open to male and female professionals as well as amateur golfers with a 6.0 handicap or better. The Long Island National event is the first in a series of 28 weekly events that will take place at some of the best courses in Westchester, Long Island, New Jersey and Dutchess County through to the Tour Championship in October.

The objective of the tour is to provide local golfers the opportunity to showcase their talents and improve their game while playing in a professional tour environment. Spaces are filling up fast and many full-time professionals have already committed to a full tour schedule which consists of 1 & 2 day tournaments, best-ball events and pro-ams as well as a Player of the Year bonus and a 54-hole tour championship in October.

Unlike the vast majority of golf tours around the country there are no large upfront membership and entry fees. The Freedom Tour gives players the freedom to compete on a pay as you play basis. Membership is only $200 with a $200 charge to play at each event. The tour guarantees a minimum first place payout of $5,000 (based on a full field) with deep payouts to the top third finishers, which is unusual for a one day event
